The idea for Funds For Fighters came after we decided to plan our first event. We’ve always loved weddings and other social events that bring people together and wanted to host something for people to look forward to each year. The event would be ticketed and we agreed that instead of pocketing any extra money, we would put it towards a good cause. Originally, the extra money would be donated to the charity or organization of our choosing but after doing some research and talking to those familiar with similar experiences, we knew we could do more. That’s when we decided to become a small nonprofit organization. Our plan is to host annual events that benefit our community and the people in it. Each one of us has grown up with loved ones that have faced different challenges and many others have as well. We decided it would be a great opportunity to bring awareness to people fighting those challenges and the resources aiding them in that fight.. As we grow, we would like to add smaller events and fundraising opportunities throughout the year. None of us have ever ran our own business or organization so we are excited (and a bit nervous) for a new adventure!
